Job
I got a job today. I start training Tuesday. It's in a call center for a statewide natural gas company explaining bills and turning on and off service. It's funny in the way I got it. I had applied for a call center job and they had sent me a battery of skills assessment tests. There were technical problems with some of the tests and after calls and emails to try to get them solved, I'd just about given up on the job. The company emailed me Monday and asked if I was still interested in the job and I said yes, but there had been problems and they resent the tests. One of the four still had problems and I contacted them and was told it didn't matter because I'd done poorly on one of the vital tests and didn't qualify for the job. But, they said they were still interested in me and would I come for an interview this morning. Well, I went in and talked to them, took another test, and went through some orientation. After a few minutes, they came out and offered me the job. I hadn't been applying for a job with the gas company but with them. They are a placement service and work for several companies like Convergys and AT&T. The job is just ten minutes away from home as opposed to 30 minutes at Convergys and more pay. Funny, when I got home, I got a call from another company I had applied to and couldn't get hold of them. They wanted to talk to me. Too late. I've got a job.

That is fantastic news, Mike! I\'m so proud of you... and you know, when it rains, it pours. First, no nibbles, then a flash flood of job offers! Lots of luck, along with lots of hugs and smoochies. I\'m so happy for you, i could bust! Deb :o)
Great news Mike! Thats awesome. Very very happy for you..... Same shift?
From what I understand, if I get the late shift, similar to what I had at Channel 10, I would make $1.50 more per hour than the old job.
Good for you! I hope you like it there too. Sometimes things work out for the best, don\'t they?
Just when the darkness seems it will hover forever more and you are ready to give up and throw in the towel..The sun comes through.. life is struggles to overcome ,lessons to learn, at times we feel we have so little..then we are given even less..in order to teach appreciation ..I think it is sort of like the \'footprints\" thing..at our lowest points in life we feel abandoned, alone..and wonder where God has gone..but it is during those times God doesn\'t just walk beside us, he picks us up and carries us when we cannot walk any more..then knowing we have learned the important lessons he tries to teach..he places us back on our feet and the sun and light surround us as if a reward given for a job well done!! SOOooooo happy and relieved your sun shines so bright!!!
