Happy New Year?

I brought in the New Year this morning. Hadn't planned on it. My plans called for watching the Stars-Blues hockey game(Stars Won!), and going to bed. And I did, about 11. But, apparently, my neighbors thought I should bring in the New Year.  Right at midnight I was awakened by three ultra loud BOOMS and white flashes in my bedroom. That's a neat trick since my window has foil on it so I can sleep during the daytime. But, there's just a little space where the the foil doesn't completely cover the window and the flash brightened my room through the space.  And the noise just wasn't the "bang" of firecrackers, but the boom of a bomb.  And not just one. It was a series of three, then five, then three, then five, and they were accompanied by other booms farther away. They shook my windows and walls! And you've got to know that Foxy went crazy with fear. She was all over the house, wimpering and barking. This all went on for fifteen to twenty minutes and it took till one this morning to get back to sleep. In other news, I learned something yesterday. If you leave your debit card in the automatic teller, it will take it back in and keep it. A good security measure, I'm sure, but it makes you go back to the bank to get it later. Not a problem since I have so much to do now. I'm having problems with umemployment.  When I applied on line for another period, there was a note for me to call a number because my payment was being held. I called the number over and over and got a busy signal everytime. It got so frustrating that I called the local office and all they said was to keep calling. I alternated between being on the computer and calling and never got hold of them. Don't know what to do next. Yall will be glad to know I started walking on the treadmill, finally, and am making progress. Well, that's all for today. I'm gonna make Hoppin' John, now to get my blackeyed peas for good luck.  Yall have a good New Year's Day!
