Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is near and as usual the Texas weather god is pulling tricks.  The last 2 weeks have been on the cold side and now, the forecast is calling for mild temps for the coming week.  From wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt to wearing gym shorts and a sleeveless shirt in less than 24 hours.  In other words, typical Texas weather.  I'm just about ready for the feast.  Just realized I need more eggs, so I'll pick them up this morning.  Thought I had enough, but the pumpkin pie and dressing need them. The price of turkey is outrageous if you're single.  You don't need a whole turkey so you look for pieces.  I got a turkey in a loaf like lunch meat and it cost about $4 less than a whole turkey.  There is no justice. Will start the preparations today.  May try a cockeyed idea with the dressing.  Will let you know if it works out.  As usual, turkey day will see warmed over food because there's not enough time to cook the whole meal on my short day.  But, at least, I'll have a good dinner for a while.  Looked at the calendar and it looks like I'll be working all the holidays for the rest of the year.  That's not too bad since I don't have any family near by.  Plus, the holiday pay always helps.  So, on to Thanksgiving.
