I've been thinking about my little sister, Vickie.  I guess it's because it's getting about time to start emailing her about coming to her house to fish.  As soon as I get the yard under control, I'll be able to go  fishing. As most of you know, she's 16 months younger than me.  I have an older sister, Sara, 10 years older than me.  It's funny how relationships change over the years.  When we were kids, Vickie and I really didn't get along and that was the case for a long time.  I guess I was jealous of her.  She was great in school with very little effort and I barely got out.  She was very popular and I had few friends.  As adults, she had the good life and mine was the pits.  She had a family and a greeat social life.  My marriage barely lasted 6 years with no kids.  It was funny that I felt closer to Sara than I did Vickie.  It seems all that changed after her husband died.  She moved to Trinidad,,,Texas about an hour and a half's drive from here to be closer to her kids that lived in the Dallas area.  She helped when our mom got sick, but most of the care was on my shoulders.  When Mom died, Vickie got even closer.  I don't know if she thought I needed mothering or she needed a man she could trust, but we're very close now.  She helped me when I went through my bouts with MRSA and she was here when I had my cataract surgeries.  She gave me my first computer that I told her I wouldn't use and since then she's given me a lot of hand-me-downs.  I have her old couch and recliner in my living room and her old digital camera.  We keep in touch by email and phone at least on a weekly basis.  Living by herself, maybe she needs me as much as I need her.  We've never been closer.  Funny how time heals everything.

My sister and i hated each othe when we were kids - she always beat up on me, but when we became adults, we somehow forgot all that and got along like peas in a pod. We still have a super duper relationship, we call each other twin because we are so alike, we even sound alike on the phone. She\'s 5 years older than me. Hugs and kisses, Deb :0)
