I was looking at my legs yesterday. How pale they are. But, it's been winter and they're supposed to be pale. But about half way below my knee there's a disaster. The skin becomes red and shiny. Shiny like they've been waxed with car wax. But there's no buildup. There's just very thin skin. Skin so thin that I could cut it just by running my fingernail across it. I know. It's happened and the cut bled like I'd cut it with a knife. And there are scars. The "L" shaped scar from that freak accident years ago that led to my problems with MRSA. Scars from scratching the eczema that came along after the MRSA. And looking at my legs, I know how weak they are from the bouts with MRSA. How walking is a chore. Standing for any length of time is difficult. My goal this spring and summer has to be to rebuild them if it's possible. Rebuild them so I can walk and maybe run. Rebuild them so I can stand without weaving back and forth. Rebuild them so yard work isn't an exhaustion. This has to be my main goal. Walking, a goal. When I was growing up I never thought walking would be a problem. Now it it. And I must walk.
