I've been reminded that my journals have strayed from type 2.  I guess it's because I seem to be having success in my battle.  My BS reading last night after eating a "no-no-no" meal(I've been told not to eat corn, pinto beans, and green peas.), with a leg quarter of roasted chicken was 106.  That seems okay with me.  All my meals come from my list of "good" foods and varies very little.  Among my list of foods are broccoli, spinach, lima beans, green beans, squash, cauliflower, collard greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, roast beef, meatloaf, pork steaks, occasionally, potatoes and blackeyed peas.  These are eaten in my big meal of the day. It does get boring at times.  To break the boredom, I have tuna salad, made of tuna, chopped bell pepper, onion, celery, sweet relish, and miracle whip salad dressing, with fat-free saltine crackers for two big meals a week.  Supper is a lunch meat sandwich with a slice of cheese on 100% whole wheat bread.  My breakfast is the same every day, a breakfast burrito of 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, and grated cheese on a flour tortilla.  Snacks include cheese and crackers, grapes, dry roasted, lightly salted peanuts.  Like I said, it gets boring, but they're the foods that work for me.  I'm still trying other foods to see how they affect my BS readings.  The highest BS reading I've had has been 176 and my lowest, 103.  Thanks to Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper, and sugarless cookies, my sweetooth stays in line, but once and a while a Hershey bar shows up, but I only eat half of it.  I'm still losing weight which makes me mad that I didn't eat this way in my younger years.  But If I had, I wouldn't have made so many good friends here on DS.  Ain't that a crazy thought?! With carefull trimming and "sanding" my feet are in prestty good shape and don't hurt like they used to.  My biggest problem right now is battling eczema.  It gets out of hand on my hands quickly and its messy to treat.  So, all in all, I'm doing pretty good.

I am so glad to have you update us on your diabetes and your BS readings. I am going to try your tuna recipe. I agree that some of our meals do get boring. But we have to go with what works for us.
By the way you see to be a pretty good cook.
Have a great weekend.

You know mike, there are no \'rules\' about what we can and can\'t write here. Becoming friends allows us to say what we want, when we want, and not have to worry about weather we\'re sticking to our \'forum\'. We\'re all in the same boat here, weather we talk about it or not, but just by being here, we are all living life together and as long as things are going great, more power to us, and if we hit a bump in the road, we have to know that this is a soft place to land, pick ourselves up, and get on with this business of life. I like reading about everyones life here, and wouldn\'t change a thing. Keep it up, friend. Hugs and kisses, Deb :0)
