The last 2 days off have been wasted.  I've only done what needs to be done except rotate the mattress on my bed.   When you're as big as I am, the side you sleep on gets kinda mushy after a while.  There's no flip-flopping the mattress.  It's a king size and very heavy.  But, since it is a king size, it's square, so I rotate it.  Found a mattress cover in the closet and put it on.  May be the bed will be a little warmer now.  Haven't been interested in doing anything.  TV's no good.  Not really into watching a movie.  My internet haunts haven't called to me.  It's been boredom.  And with this boredom has come time to get good and mad about my neighbors behind me.  When I moved into this house, the backyard was perfect for a dog.  Foxy, when we adopted each other, stayed in the backyard when I went to work.  Only on cold days did she stay in the house when I was gone.  That all changed when my neighbors got a pit bull. She stays in the house when I'm gone now. They kept the dog chained in a corner of their yard.  No dog house.  Just a food and water dish which he spilled with his chain.  I felt sorry for him and made friends with him by giving him water and treats by reaching over the fence.  I even pet him.  We looked forward to seeing each other.  Foxy liked him too, but she likes all dogs.  The mud and the stench must have gotten too bad for his owners because they poured a concrete slab.  No forms.  Just a pile of concrete, but still no shelter.  But he went away.  Don't know why, but a succession of pit bulls have followed, including a male and female that had puppies.  Six of them.  That started the problem. The family was replaced by a nother pit bull.  Then another and another.  None of them have been friendly since then.  They start barking when I come into the yard.  The owners put up a hand-made pen.  Foxy kept going over to them and I feared she'd get hurt by them.  Instead of leaving her to do her thing and me going back in the house, I started staying out there and watching her.  I put up a line of flower bed fence to keep her away and that worked.  At least I thought so till I saw her jump it.  But at least she didn't do it often and they were still confined to that corner.  But now, one of them is allowed to roam the whole yard and I don't have enough fence to keep Foxy away.  Those d,,n dogs have taken my backyard away from Foxy and me.  Now, I put her on a cable to do her thing and she's having a hard time adapting.  She doesn't understand why I'm doing it.  I'm seriously thinking about putting up a 4 foot fence across the back to keep her away and allow her to run around without the cable.  I've never built a fence, but I'll have to try.  The h,,l of it is I can't do anything about it!  What they're doing back there is against a city ordinance, but if I turn them in, they'll know who did it.  I've seriously thought about using antifreeze to rid myself of the problem.  I've never hated any animals more than I do these pit bulls, but I can't take a life.  Don'tknow what else I can do.  Well, one more day and back to work.

Speaking of pit bulls, one day I heard some noise under the back steps. My little dogs heard it too and stuck their head under. I took a look and there were two pit bull pups. One growled. I went inside and saw them run down the driveway. Later in the day my one dog keep going in the open garage. So I went down to see what was happening. The two pups were hiding behind the farm tractor and would not come out. I call the dog warden who attempted to get them and put them in a carrier. One of them he had no trouble with. But the other one even though it was just a pup snapped, growled, and was scarry. Looked like it was already train to be a \"big dog\". How sad I thought. The fence may be the best idea. Sure messed up you weekend.

I\'m sorry that your neighbors can\'t be talked to or negotiated with. Foxy has a right to use the yard and you shouldn\'t have to worry about her safety in doing so. The fence sounds like the way to go. I wish it was different for you.
