Well, I'm back. Back from my trip to the early 1950's. Hope yall enjoyed the story as much as I did writing it. There were some details left out so it wouldn't be so long. But all of it is true. If you need proof, check out my photo section. You'll see a picture of me with that road grader on Christmas Day. I still have that grader. Except for the rubber smokestack, it's still intact. I'd planned on giving it to my son. But, since I never had any kids, I've still got it. In fact, it's sitting on the top of my bookcase here in the computer room. Maybe you noticed I write for speaking. If you read what I've written out loud, you could be telling the story. I hope you didn't mind my little trip. I learned to write while I was a radio newsman, so anything I wrote had to be for the spoken word. I'm not really a storyteller as I am an observer of people, and that's my style of writing. My writing doesn't really have a beginning or end. It's an observation of an event in time. I thought it might bring back some memories to us older folks and bring an insight into a simpler time to you youngsters. I have another Christmas story I'll share with you. This one will be a lot shorter. And as requested, I've found a story that happens after Christmas and goes into the new year. Now, what's been happening to me since December 6th. Not a lot. I got some good news from my doctor. I went and got a series of blood tests a little over a week ago. Had asked for the A1C, but, I guess she didn't hear me and ran a bunch of other tests. She said all the tests came out excellent! Including a blood glucose test. I continue to lose weight. My cholesterol is good and my blood pressure is normal. She said to keep up the good work. And yall know that this disease is a work in progress. That we have to keep constant vigil on what we eat and what we do. I was going to go in for the A1C today, but since the other test came out okay, I'll wait till after Christmas. Writing the story took a lot of time and I'm behind on my house work. I'm having a problem with ecsema again on my hands and they're hurting. I'm trying to get it under control. All my presents have been shipped out and I've gotten my presents from Vickie. I'll be off Christmas Eve and Day. Don't know wether I'll be going to Vickie's house or not. Really don't care at this point. On a lesser note, my appearance has changed a bit. The photo you see of me is 2 years old. As most of you know, I cataract surgery earlier this year. I no longer wear glasses except to read and use the computer. I've let my beard grow and am, now, getting double-takes from kids because I look a little like Santa. Because of my weight loss, I've aged a bit. When I was fatter, the fat puffed out the wrinkles. Now, they're coming in. So, it's back to the normal journal entries except for for the 2 I've mentioned. I've been keeping up with your journals. I always want to know how you're doing. Got some good news from a friend here. He got through his quadruple bypass surgery okay and is now on his way back.A good Christmas present for him. I guess it's time for me to stop rambling. As you can see, I've still got a lot of words left in me.

Good another story to come. Thanks. Your journal update was very interesting, definitely shows you have made a lot of progress on your health. That\'s the bottom line especially as we are no longer \"kids\". Even the wrinkles are looking good when the numbers, cholesterol, weight, sugar, have improved. Got your Christmas gifts under control, time to kick back and enjoy the Christmas music and cards coming your way.
