Well, the day's not over, but it seems it's gonna be a wasted day off. Had a plan for this morning.  Was gonna trim back this huge bush at the corner of my house,  It's gotten so big that it's covering one of my windows.  It's at least 15 feet tall.  I don't know what kind of bush it is, but it grows like crazy.  It really is nice in the spring and summer when it puts out clusters of tiny white flowers that smell so great and turn into tiny berries.  Usually I just trim the east side of it every once and a while to keep it from taking over the driveway.  That side's okay, but I thought I'd cut it severely for security reasons since it's covering that window.  A burglar couldn't get in anyway because my kitchen table is right up against the window.  I, usually don't cut it back during the cold times.  A lot of birds use it for shelter.  So, I went out there this morning and sure enough two cardinals flew out of it.  Just can't cut it back till spring.  Just can't.  Wish I hadn't gotten the cable reconnected.  Now, I remember why I haven't missed it that much.  I sit down in my recliner and fall asleep.  Maybe, I need the sleep, but it's seems like a waste.  Getting a lot of doves coming to my feeders now.  Little nuthatches flitter in and out to the feeders.  They don't waste any time.  Just grab a bite and go.  A couple of cardinals come by, but not enough.  Haven't seen any blue jays yet.  The little house finches haven't discovered the feeders.  Talk about a ruckus!  When they get going, they're a site!  Thinking about telling yall a true Christmas story later in the season.  A short version of what was published in the local newspaper paper a couple of years ago which was shorter than the orginal I wrote a couple of years before that.  Yes, a story about Mike Harris, my alter ego.  There's not enough space in the journal for the full descripted story.  I wish I could give yall my big Christmas story I wrote several years ago for my book that will never be published.  It's about Christmas in a small town in the 50's.  Back when Christmas was very special.  Not just a time to buy and get stuff. Hope yall have taken a look at the Christmas cards in my photo section.  They're kinda special.  And, I hope yall liked that photograph of the nativity.  My mom made that set for me.  I've started rambling.  That's a bad sign.  Gee, this day's been dull.  Time for me to stop writing and you to stop reading.

But I like to read your writing! I agree...Christmas doesn\'t have the same special feeling for me anymore. I wish it wasn\'t such a commercial celebration. It takes away from the real reason for Christmas.

I\'d like to read that Christmas story, set in the \'50\'s, which is when I was an only child in the 8th grade. Share whatever you want, I will not be bored. I was in southern Tx a few years ago on a nature trip, and saw the beautiful green jay, as well as many other wonderful birds.
