H A P PY T H A N K S G I V I NG I decided to use this journal again because I had a happy Thanksgiving. I began to think about what I was thankful for and it was a good list. This time last year I was freezing. My gas had been turned off. The only heat I had was a small electric space heater and an electric blanket. My stove, wall furnace, and water heat use gas. Any cooking I did was in a microwave oven and a small hot plate. I heated water on the hot plate to clean myself. When I got home from work, I put on 2 pairs of sweat pants, 2 sweat shirts, a pair of theremal socks, and a pair of wool socks. If I sat in my recliner, a blanket covered me. I couldn't afford the turkey, dressing, and yams for a Thanksgiving dinner and even if I could, I didn't have a stove to prepare it. I had bounced 3 rent checks. I had to cash in most of my company retirement plan just to pay the bills. My car's blower was out and I almost had a wreck because I couldn't keep the ice off the windshield. Today, I had gas and so heat. And I was able to buy turkey, yams, and the fixins' for dressing. I pay my rent on time. My car has a new blower and is ready for winter. I can take a shower. I have a new winter coat and cap. That would be enough to be thankful for, but I still have that landlord who allowed to me stay in this house and pay the rent when I got the money. And I have Foxy who had to go through this with me. Yes, I had a happy Thanksgiving. And, yes, I have a lot to be thankful for.

Gobble, gobble, gobble - LOL!!! No seriously, all kidding aside ...
Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Mike! How was your day?
Glad this year went good for you, and you and Foxy
had a nice dinner and are warm. Does Foxy like
turkey? My silly cats like ham but not turkey, go
figure. I\'m up early this Fri. 11/23, doing some
writing to my friends. Keep in touch!
