Well, this is beginning to be a habit. Early day journal entries. What happpened to my late nights and early mornings? It's turned cool here for a couple of days. Down in the mid-40's last night and into the high 30's tomorrow morning. Some of you will think those temperatures are warm, but for central Texas, anything below 50 is cool. I've gotten a chance to try out my new space heater in my computer room and it seems to be okay. Now, I'll see how it does when it really gets cold. Went back to work yesterday after having my foot fixed. Feels great withiout the pain. But, now, I've got to learn how to walk normal again. I remember having to learn to walk after my bypass surgery. That was a kick. Your right leg tightens up after they take that vein out to do the bypasses. I can remember thinking I'd accomplished something when I'd walked a half a block and back. And I remmember by sister, Sara, yelling from the front porch, "Way to go man", as I walked in the street. She'd come all the way from California to help me and my mom while I was rehabing. Oh, what she went through! Having to take those support stockings off my legs and putting them back on twice a day. It was painfull every time to me and she felt my pain. And I can remember the sense of accomplishment when I could, finally, put them on and take them off by myself. Hope I'm not scaring a friend here who is possibly facing bypass. But, I know he'll get through it just as I did.
