I\'m Back!!

My appt was at 8:30 so just to be on the safe side I left at 7:30 cause it is across town.  Well it only took me 30 minutes.  Good right?  Well first you have to wait to pay.  Sign in and wait your turn.  Then go over to the Gyn/Onc dept.  I made it there by 8:30, and again sign in and wait.  There were several people ahead of me.  To top it all off the Dr. didn't get there till 10:00.  I thnk I fianly saw her at 10:45.  Then down to the lab for blood.  Go home around noon. It seemed to go pretty well except for one thing.  Her protegee' found a little teeny tiny half of a pea size lump on the upper right quadren of my right breast.  She said that is a dangerous part of the breast.  She is going to order an ultrasound.  Better to be safe than sorry. The way it is set up there is different than at a private Dr's.  You don't go into a room.  It is just these little partition areas, make private with just a curtain.  I could not help but here what was going on next to me.  The doctor was telling a lady who was there with her daugter, that she had stage 4 cervical cancer, that had spread to her lungs.  She told her that it probably was incurable.  That she could possibly go into remission with chemo, but it would inevitably come back.  She gave her some options for chemo.  Some Clinical trials and such.  My heart was breaking.  This kind of goes along with what we where talking about on Inka's journal.  It cannot be easy telling somebody that.  She was very discreet however.  When I stepped out of my little partition, her curtain was open.  She was not there but her daughter was sitting in there crying.  I wanted to say something to her, but I wouldn't know what to say.  I do wish I had. Anyway it will be a couple of days before I know the results of the CA 125  I will keep you all posted.  I gained 12 pounds.  Yikes!  She didn't say anything about that though. Love to all my sistersAnita
