Well I just spoke to the Patient Advocacy.  There is not much they can do about getting my Cobra reinstated.  Just found out also that my bill at the doctor's office for the last two chemo treatments is $24,000.  The advocate is going to try to get some of that paid for by the Pharma comapanies.  She is sending me applications.  All I can do is try.  Not much I can do about it, so I choose not to worry.  Emotionally I cannot afford to.  Tell me again why we don't want socialized medicine in this country?

Well done for choosing not to worry.. far better things to be getting on with.. and it\'s not like you haven\'t done all that you can.. Good you have an advocate to help too.. I know it helps me to relax when I know there is someone else on my case.. you\'ve earned a rest here.. I don\'t think that after all this anything is going to be able to ruffle your feathers very much ever again.. Stay happy and free.. loads of love to you xxxxxx

Update: Just heard back from the Patient Advocate that she contacted all the Pharma companies and they will pay some of the cost. Like $16,000. So that is a good thing.

Anita, that\'s encouraging news that some of your chemo will be paid for. Try not to worry about all of this too much (easier said than done, I know) and concentrate on making yourself healthy and happy. After all you\'ve been through, you deserve it. Huge hugs of encouragement and strength to you, xxxx LuEllen

I am not sure if I can get anymore help than that. I am hoping my advocate can negotiate that down.

I\'m so glad you are taking care of yourself and not worrying about this stuff too much. Your health is the most important thing. I\'m amazed at the fact that 2 chemo treatments are 24000 dollars. I wonder way we have no cure? Maybe drug companies. So many hugs to you and love....Beth

It is outragous what they get away with charging. For one Neulasta shot (for white cells) it costs $4,000. Ridicules.

I understand where you are. I went into chemo with no insurance. We had a lot of benefits, garage sales, concerts and bake sales. You would be surprised how that helps.I paid all that I could and here two years and I am still paying. I am saying a prayer that you will have peace during all of this. No one should have to worry about money while they are fighting this disease. Love and Hugs.

When I got divorced, I lost Health Insurance. I was offered Cobra, But it cost as much as the rest. So I dont have any. Its a sad day when people cant get medical help.

I had a quote from a private hospital for 6 courses of carboplatin/gemcitibine including all the tests, scans, consultations etc and it came to roughly 12,000 altogether..
