Frustrated

Last Thursday I was notified that my Rhuemy nor my primary physician would be accepting my new insurance after July 1. I was in tears! The thought of having to leave the two doctors that have cared for me all this time overwhelmed me with grief! It's very rare that one can find doctors they are truly happy with. My doctors have excellent bedside manners, compassionate, and they listen to me.
Well, I began my search today. There are only a few Rhuematalogist locally so there isn't many to choose from and/or they don't take my insurance. The first rheumatologist I called the receptionist was unbelievably rude. She questioned me as to why I wanted to transfer to their office, why won't they take my insurance, they must be mistaken & to call my former Rheumatalogist back because I/or they didn't know what we were talking about. That woman had me so upset! I was like lady, if my former rheumy accepted my insurance I would not be calling you! So she had me to call them to ask them to fax my referral  to her. I called my former Rhuemy and told them what she needed. The ladies in that office are so kind. It was obvious I was upset. They made a few suggestions.Thank goodness they did! They suggested i stay with their office being my rheumy only see me every six months.. I would have to pay the whole amount for the office visit which is 80-122$ butI don't care because it would be totally worth it since I receive such great care from them Besides I will have six months to save for the visit!
I called my primary physician and they said they DO accept my insurance. Well that's not what my employer said. I hope my employer is wrong! Things really looked up for me after making those phone calls. I actually got some cleaning done and I didn't stay in my room all day as I usually do. I really want to stop isolating myself. It's not good for me but its so much easier to hide instead of facing the world.
