Hi I went and had a second opinion last Wed. in Fargo. The doctor said he did not feel I need to have the treatment yet. I don't know if I should wait or still start in November. I just wish I would know how the side effects are going to affect me. I will make my decision by Nov. 5th. Rynette

I will tell you that it will never be a good time to do tx. Never. I will tell you that you are extremely fortunate to have type 2 because the odds of your clearing the virus are quite high.
I am saddened to hear that you were told you don\'t need a biopsy. Why? Because you only have type 2? There is absolutely no good reason, unless you have health issues which would make a biopsy a danger to you, to pass on the biopsy.
Tell me, what is the condition of your liver? What stage and grade are you? The viral load means nothing; it\'s just a number to use as a starting point when you do tx so that the dr will know if you are responding or not. That number goes up and down all the time.
You really need the biopsy because you can\'t tell if you have liver damage by your blood work. I know one lady who showed no big issues from her blood work yet her biopsy showed her to be a 3/3! She definitely needed to do tx and soon.
Please find out what your stage and grade are because THAT is the info which will tell you if you should do tx now, later or never.
