been a while
I know it's been a while since I posted, and things are way different now. I got home with my step daughter today. And I have another child in tow. I got her sister too.
Apparently, after they got home, my step-daughters bio-mom had a 'something' and lost feeling in her right side of her body. The emergency room doctor said it was just Bell's Palsey and sent her home. Well, a week later she t-bones another car with my step-daughter in the car. It hasn't even been a full year since her last wreck. Anyway, she tells the new ER doc all her symptoms and he tells her it sounds like MS. That sends her into a downward spiraling depression, and she wacks out on the kids. She is so involved with herself that she didn't take my step-daughter to the doctor or get her in services, even though she knew that my step-daughter was cutting again to deal with the stress of taking care of her little sister because bio-mom couldn't be bothered to cook or clean, or bathe, and sent my step-daughter to the store, on foot, six blocks away in bleow freezing temps, to get food for the house.
I borrowed four hundred dollars from my mom to buy the train tickets to get the girls, and a hundred from a family friend to buy food to take with me. I also used all my Christmas money. The trip up to Michigan on the train was beautiful and I enjoyed it very much. I spent two nights at the bio-mom's house. I have never seen such filth. She has two cats, and the house stinks like cat urine. The plumbing was messed up so the shower and washing machine weren't available. There were piles of dirty clothes everywhere, and no one had taken a shower in a week. There wasn't any food in the house to make supper, and a guy that bio-mom had staying there bought pizza the first night, and we didn't get to eat the second night. Shortly after I arrived the first night, bio-mom was screaming at both girls even though they did nothing wrong, she was just out of cigarettes. I had to fight myself to keep from hitting her. I did defend them, and bio-mom, super bitch, tried to change why she was yelling at them for. That woman needs to be locked up.
I have power of attorney for step-daughter's sister. On Monday, we are all going to the pdoc to get my step-daughter back into services and get umm..god-daughter into services. She has only recently been diagnosed bipolar as well, but I'm not sure that the diagnoses is correct. She has been through hell with the woman that gave birth to her, anyone would be screaming shoot me, or try to hang themselves. Anyway.
There are now seven people in one great big, not quite happy yet home. We'll need therapy for everyone and some breaking of bad habits. Wish me luck. We have to re-arrange the kids' bedroom for all the beds to fit. I need to go do that. It's almost bedtime.
