So, my son is Bipolar and ADHD with ODD. He has not gone a whole week since school started without getting into some kind of trouble. I am on a first name basis with his principal and assistant principal. I have all of his teachers email addresses. Last Thursday, he got in trouble for telling another girl in class that he would rather sleep with her sister than her. Now keep in mind, he's in fifth grade! I tried talking to him, but I was so into my own shit, I couldn't think straight. The kids were out of school on Friday. So he was in a seperate classroom Monday and today as punishment. He has refused to do any work since last Wednesday. His teacher sent home all of the work he is behind on today. I got out of him why he hasn't done any of it. He knows the material already, and is bored, he thinks it's pointless to do the work when it's too easy, but he doesn't want the challenge of more complicated work. I'm almost to my wits end with him and about to yank him out of school and go back to homeschooling him, but the problem with that is he won't get the socialization he needs. But I'm concerned he will never obtain the people skills needed for any meaningful employment, Lord knows I'm almost 30 and I still don't and I was in public school all my life. Now, he's pushing limits since I went into the hospital over the weekend. Oy!
