Dear God,
Each time I visit this group, I see a new name, a new woman who has known loss.
When I read her story, I almost see my self in there. The joy that comes with knowing that there's going to be a baby in her arms at the end of this 9-month long journey and the excitement to see an extension of herself. She thinks up baby names. She wonders if she'll need to pick pink or blue. She dreams many dreams for her and her family. She is so filled with wonder and awe at the very thought that there's a little speck of life in her...growing at a dramatic speed. She is filled with joy, while dodging arrows of fear and doubt.
But somewhere along, whethere she expected or not, her journey ends, derailed. It's finished, right before her eyes. Her dreams, they shatter and she's overcome with a flood of different emotions.
Above all, she's filled with deep grief...and most often, just doesn't know how to cope.
She wants to hope again, but finds herself struggling to do that. She tries to find support from those around her, her partner some times doesn't really understand. So, she locks herself in a world of silence and tears. Nothing she does seems to help.
It pains her to see women with bumps, or precious babies in their mother's arms. She grows uncertain of herself. Her emotions get the better of her. She wants to be where they are, but fears, things are just not the same!
She looks at women having babies they don't even want and wonders just what You're up to. She sees children born to couples, where love is amiss....and wonders, why, just why, is it this way.
It's hard, she agrees, to understand Your plan. But she knows You are able...to bless her and fill her empty womb. She hopes again...
God, I lift up to you all of these women...not only do they need Your blessings, Lord, a gift of a beautiful, healthy child...but now, God, they need Your warm comfort, they need Your peace. Outpour Your love into their lives and let them know that there is nothing impossible for You. That You are a good God, a prayer-answering God, a God who loves them like no other, a God who was with them when they lost their babies, a God who will be with them when they have their babies.... a God who will be with them until the end of time.
Tell them that You felt their pain, that Your heart hurt when You saw them so broken, and that You want to restore their lives...and give them the abundant life, just as You promised.
Tell them God...tell them today.
Yours forever
