26 more days until Spring!
Can you see a recurring theme here? It is going to be weeks before I can go for a walk again with the dog. No sidewalks at all. 5 ft high walls up sides of roads due to plowing, that are now down to about 3-4 ft due to some melting over the last few days. This is the worst it has ever been for me, desperate for warmth, sunshine, Spring, snow melt, green lawns, fresh breezes! Even the dog has cabin fever. Best I can do is walk her around the block a bunch of times around 7-8 pm before the snow melt ices up and becomes black ice at night. My street is one lane total. So if a car is coming towards you, someone has to back up into someone else's driveway and let the other car pass. You also have to watch since the roads are narrow when you are driving- cars coming over the double yellow line since their lanes are narrow, people walking or biking in the street due to no sidewalk. So I really can't wait for this to be gone.
Paul sort of fixed my old computer. I am using it now. I hope I can catch up soon with all of my friends here. He is going to buy me a new one soon though. Just as long as it works. I did not lose any of my data at this point. So I am now back on fitday program and FB and DS. Will take a while to get back on track. Also, updated my pedometer. Last few weeks have been awful with little or no exercise, bad binge eating, under 5000 steps. Bad, bad, bad. But, I only gained 1 lb. So back on track for me. Will take a while. Food yesterday was not good. Now that I am tracking again, I was 30 lbs over what I burned. So I am trying to do better today.
Yesterday: I did Zumba for 1 hr (Latin dance aerobics.) OMG! So much fun! I laughed half the time. I have ZERO rythym. (sp?) But is was fun and very fast paced. I also took the dog for a 25 minute walk last night and did 30 minutes on Wii Walk It Out. (My new game.) Walk it out: You wear the nunchuck in your left pocket and hold the remote in right hand and walk to upbeat music (most of which you recognice, like "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, and "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eyed Peas.) You gain points by walking and then "zap" stuff with your remote and buy pieces for your town. 35 points for a streetlight, 50 points for a tree, etc. You also buy new songs, etc. So it is a lot of fun and I am building my little town. I got in 16,497 steps yesterday! A new daily record for me!
Going to the YMCA tonight for Health Circle and then a work out.
David came in 2nd in karate tournament Saturday. Got several gold medals and a grand champion medal and was tied for 1st place for overall (the big trophy.) David lost the tie breaker by 1/2 point, but immediately went over and gave the other kid a hug and high five. I was very proud of him!
Then he got in a scuffle at school and got a detention (minor scuffle.) But then he threw a snowball at a school bus and now is suspended for tomorrow. And things were going so well for a while there. Paul is driving me insane. He needs a vacation or time out or something. He is so edgy and cranky and I just am having a really really hard time dealing with him. Days I don't even like him, even though I love him. Know what I mean? Just sometimes I don't want to talk to him, be around him. He is so angry and such a downer and this will not go away until he is out doing yard work. Don't know if I can last that long. Something's gotta give.
We are going to get a little rain tonight and temps are going to be in mid 30's, so hopefully all rain, no snow. And tomorrow will be 42. Yeah! More snow melt. Praying for Spring! My mom says a local meteorologist is calling for 40 inches in early March! If that happens, I think I will lose my mind! I will have to take the dog and walk to a hotel and leave the two of them home. Well, pray that does not happen!

Oh my goodness. That\'s a lot of snow. No wonder all of you are feeling house-bound...you literally ARE stuck! Hoping for a warm-up and meltdown for you!
Hope everything else is going alright with your job, etc.
Job is total chaos BTW. No pay for overtime. Being told \"be glad you have a job.\" So I am just doing my best at this point.
Spring...where aret thou Spring? Our metoroglist said that last year we were done with the snow by February BUT not this year! UGH! I long to walk on the terra firma again! The Wii game sounds like great fun! Your steps are amazing.
Congrats to David on his Karate tourny. Boys will be boys...he just could not resist throwing that snowball! LOL
Congrats to you on an all time high step count and on getting back at it!! And yay to David for the excellent showing and the hug given at the loss (that\'s a win then!). I remember Jillian Michaels saying her martial arts teacher kicked her out for eating Cheetos. I think most martial arts teachers would tell David that your whole life represents your art and that the snowball throwing and scuffles don\'t represent his art or who he is. I\'m sure he\'s heard that already ;)
Sorry about your job - that\'s total crap intimidating people into working extra with job security fears. Argh. Sometimes it feels like we still live in the 19th Century.
That is SO much snow. It always feels like everything is so much more difficult when you are dealing with giant snow and tiny roadways. The plow drivers must be exhausted!! Here they work 24 hours a day until roadways are cleared and I always feel so sorry for those tired guys and gals.
I hope at the very least that your snow stays white and doesn\'t get dingy and that the sun shines down and feels warm. And I hope at the most that you are wearing your bikini in no time!
Give Paul a SHOVEL. lol
Sounds like you are doing well but there is a lot of craziness surrounding you and causing you stress. I hope it all works out and that this thing with David blows over soon...sounds like he\'s a good kid caught in that stage where he is getting restless and finding himself in trouble in very typical ways. Luckily my daughter has escaped suspension but her behavior can be so difficult at times. I often wonder how she doesn\'t get into more trouble with her teachers than she does? I hope for David it was just a one time thing!
I am ready for Spring too...snow, snow go away!!!
Sorry to just catch up! Lots going on, going in to many directions - nuts. Wish I could help out! OMG I could not deal with that snow and more to come - hope they are wrong on that prediction. High 5 for David on his tournament! Jimmy did karate for a yr but now trying wrestling. Season is almost over already, he likes it! Darn the luck right ~ things will get better. I\'ll meet ya at the hotel, go swimming, etc. - would be fun. Better than shoveling snow..... Good job for getting back on track! That\'s the main focus - making yourself get thru this tough time no matter what it takes. U R doing a GREAT Job! Hang in there and hope work gets better. YES SPRING WILL BE HERE VERY SOON!!! FINGERS CROSSED!
Congrats to David, how exciting!! I know you are so proud of him! I\'m been wanting to try Zumba with my friends but didn\'t know too much about it, I\'ll def have to check it out. I think I\'m also going to get into pole dancing next month too, gotta get back in the game, you know? I totally understand your frustration and lack of motivation! We\'ll get there!
