I was sitting here thinking about you this morning Dad and how you were always so good with all the kids, us, grandkids, great grandkids....and I remembered one time when my son was about 3.... the Salvo's used to come around once a month and play a few songs, talk to the kids, the usual things...one this day they told my son and daughter(she was 5) about the Army sunday school...They came home very excited and wanted to go the next Sunday, my son more than my daughter ..for two reasons, 1-he was not going to school yet, and 2- it was the Army school.Sunday came, I got them ready and took them off to the hall, my son had a funny look on his face and kept asking me why he had to wear his good clothes..I just smiled and said because it was his first day there. Now I had told them all week what it would be about, and they had a basic knowledge of Christianity, so off we went.I waited for them, had a walk along the beach and waited till it was finished.. my son came stomping out, got in the car and said nothing, my daughter had enjoyed herself. We went of to see Mum and Dad later, and my son sat with his Popa and said... "Popa, you know that Sala-vation Army" (as he said it) Popa replied "yes love, what about them?" son said..... "well they are not a very good Army you know .........they didn't give me a gun!!!"  Popa roared with laughter then sat my son on his lap and said "but they help everybody Shane, they never hurt people, so they don't need guns!"  Shane thought about this for a few day, then came up to me and said, "Mum, they may help everybody, but I still want a gun! and they won't help me with that, so they don't help everyone!"  I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my face, the poor little guy just couldn't understand it all.   It took him another 5 or so years to finally understand that the Salvo's were not that type of Army, but it sure made us all laugh when he came out with that comment.I am starting to find the happy memories.....even if there is sadness there that you are no longer here, I can smile a I remember all those little moments in time when you really were our whole world, and we knew that you always had the answer we needed. Truely treasured moment captured forever in our memories.

Oh, dilli, you made me cry. What a wonderful memory to have saved. I\'ll bet your son has no interest in guns these days!! Oh, Lord, that was such a lovely story. These are not sad tears, just tears for such lovely memories. I can\'t explain any better than that. Warm hugs, dear friend, for warm memories.
