One year

Baby related, so only proceed if that's okay!
Elliott turned one today!  I can't believe an entire year has gone by. He's no longer my tiny peanut...he's growing into a little guy every minute.  He chatters (goo, ga, da, ma, gee, and a few others), he can climb stairs like a pro.  He pulls up and stands, but doesn't want to walk when he can crawl as fast as he needs to.  He loves cheese and blackberries and bread, plays with his cousins whom he adores.  Elliott loves animals and knows how to give high fives and wants to look at photos of people he loves all day long.  He's happy and healthy and so wonderful.  We laugh together every day.
We are so in love with him, and so mindful of the journey we had to take to get him here.  While I do wish I had been able to have children earlier, and that we didn't have to struggle through IF and IVF to get our miracle, I also know that the odds of getting this precious, amazing, intelligent, funny, sweet, gentle boy without the process would be a trillion to one.  What would be the likelihood we'd be trying that exact month, and that that one particular egg and sperm would have been the magic ones?  Sure, I'd adore any child of mine, but Elliott is so perfect so...us.  He's exactly everything.  I guess things do work out for the best, or at least in this case they did.
I think of all of you often.  I wish I could say that now everything's complete, but IF is a nasty old hag.  I still feel terribly sad that we have no frosties, that we'll have to go through it all again if we want another child.  I still feel bitter and angry sometimes when people have their second, third, fourth, etc pregnancies.  (A friend just announced her third in less than three years...seriously?!)  I wish for miracles for every one of you still waiting, and I'm here for any moral support you need through your journey.
Thanks for sharing mine with me.
