I got out to the Museum on Thursday Morning. I am afraid because of how much it took out of me. I ended up needing more than 12 hours sleep Friday. I still am feeling it and I have a banquet tonight yet. But I got out! I think that I might have to see if for a while twice a week is a good goal for starts with 3 times a week being the more eventual goal so I move the scale up to 30% for now. Partly in realization that it will take more work than expected. Also realization that many don't understand how difficult it will be for me to get out. ~ Darrell

you did great darrell, museums are busy places. i wanted to tell you i to leaved in port moody when i lived in the vancouver area many years ago. elementary school to be exact. all the houses were new and the first mcdonalds opened then but we never went cuz my mom said it wasnt healthy food. we used to walk up thru the woods all the way to simon frazier university along the path and play in the woods back there behind the houses. dont know if its still like that or not,if its park land or developed. but we were there for a few years and then back to calgary.
I think that parts of College park are developed and parts are left wild. I don\'t think ther has been much development there in the past 10 years. I am thinking of the area on the hill below SFU. Are you talking about the McDonalds in Burquitlam? They actually have put one down on St John\'s Street near where I now live. I miss the Taco Time that was once there. Burnaby Mountain is still for the most part forested, though you\'d be surprised at how much development there is at the top where the university is. Many buildings that looking up from PM I figure must be Condo complexes for students. I don\'t get up the mountain very often. That will have to be one of my trips... wonder if I can connect to WiFi if I go up there?
The museum is a fairly small one so isn\'t too busy. Our meeting was just 4 of us discussing the upcoming \"Heritage Week\" and what the museum might do in conjunction with the city for it. Not too bad, but the walk tuckered me out.
i dont remember where the mcdonalds was exactly, just that it was the first in the area, i was in 3rd or 4th grade.it was a long time ago. i am so glad burnaby mountain is still forested, we collected pussy wllows for our moms in the spring and ate samon berries in the summer.
cool to read your posts reminiscing about a common town :-)) Hope you don\'t over do trying to meet your goals DarrellWade..........congratulations on your progress however!!!!
I am sure you can find both pussy willows and salmon berries... though of course not at the same time.
Was at the banquet tonight. Next trek the Museum Bod Meeting on Monday!
