I felt a bit low through the morning and couldn't rouse myself 'til afternoon.

But I lay back and look up out my bedroom window - also my office window - and there high in the sky two bald eagles wheeled and soared high in the sky. It is surprising how much sky they cover even when they are just wheeling and soaring.

I can't help but mention it that I can watch animals like these eagles from my own window and I am not out in the wild. I am in a major city. Well 2-3 million in the Vancouver Regional District, but we are on the West Coast and the Coastal Mountain Forests.

Once while I was near the pier an eagle flying across the inlet coming towards shore was so low and so close to me I could see the texture of individual feathers. Could it have been 10 feet? 20? 30? It is so hard to tell in a short instant of time and I do not want to exaggerate because it was an incredible experience and only 10 minutes from my door.

i love being able to watch the nature around me, especially up in maine! We have a pair of eagles that nest on our lake that are very inspiring to watch and also the loons, and herons...no wonder i hate to come back to mass!

We have herons around here too. Great Blue Herons. I know there are loons too, but I don\'t think they care so much for the salt water.

It is good to be able to relax here. I think that is one reason why God found this place for me.
