I cracked a tooth on Easter Sunday during Easter Dinner. The crack was below the gum line in a tooth that was already half gone and had had a root canal done with a temporary filling.
Anyway today I confirmed the tooth cracked when I bit down on a bit of raw cauliflower and the tooth folded over. The crack opened and now the part above the gum line is only holding on by a bit of the gum on one edge. Just like a baby tooth lose and nearly ready to fall out.
Sigh. Half the tooth was gone already so I figure not much to be done. It will eventually I guess have to be pulled, but there's not much tooth to tug on.

I\'m sorry bout the tooth. It can be painfull and anoying at the same time. I hope you can get to a dentist before it gets worse.
ouch!! you sound like your in a lot of pain. hope you can get into the dentist soon
Thanks, it is a molar that I had a root canal in but couldn\'t afford a crown (or is that cap?) for and only had the temporary filling. Anyhow It broke in half a few years ago and the only coverage I had was emergency coverage for compassionate relief of pain. Ie. they can do a few procedures for the relief of pain.
Now I have some coverage. Dream coverage compared to what I had. Up to $1000 every 2 years. But now... I think all they can do is pull the teeth that at one time could merely have been fixed with a replaced filling. Not to mention the ones cracked when I was on Zoloft and that caused jaw clenching in my sleep.
Anyway it is just an aggravation right now, not an actual toothache by any means. I\'m just going to miss having a tooth there as this last part of that tooth finally detaches from the gum.
Did you know that once we die, the teeth are the most indestructible part of the body which is why what we know of many prehistoric ancestors is by their teeth.
