I was sitting here this morning complaining to God about church when I looked out the window and saw my neighbor stooping down and picking things off his driveway. He would then toss whatever he was picking up into the grass. It took me a while to realize he was saving the lives of earthworms. When he finished, he got in his car, backed out and drove away. Seeing what he did was so beautiful it made me cry. I bawled like a baby over it. I am so used to people not giving a crap about anything and here was a guy who cared enough to take the time out to give little insignificant creatures a break. I love that.

Ha ha Bill. My downbeatness says you may be right. My dark self also says there will be no easy breakfast for the ants, now they will have to struggle for food, and the worms will just crawl back onto the driveway in the end anyway. Still, it was nice that he didn\'t squash them and gave them a chance to get away. I do the same with snails and slugs and spiders and centipedes not knowing what I am throwing them into. I could be throwing them right into a predator\'s mouth for all I know. That is where God comes in. Whatever his decision is then that\'s the way it will be. None of us really know how a thing will be. Thanks for the balancing argument though.
