feelings

I am learning more and more about feelings and how they connect us to other people.  I still don't understand why I can't control my feelings but I guess it was meant to be.
 
I am very concerned about me being gullible.  It seems that the more you love and help folks the more they want to take advantage of you.
 
Am I too generous??? Too loving??? Or is this a natural part of being human???
