It's been awhile since I made an entry. I see some of the entries some of you make & it keeps me hopeful. I visited my boyfriend this past weekend & I always love seeing him. We're at 10 months now since he was home & the last time I got to hug or kiss him. The facility he's at now is a transfer facility & he can only have contact visits with immediate family until he earns a different status. He got news today that he may be transferred to another facility up the road which is good but still needs the upgrade in status before he can have contact visits with anyone on his visitor list that is not considered family. Me being a girlfriend who he lived with doesn't count. Oh well, it's progress to at least get moved from where he is now.
Last week his parole attorney came to see him & believes he has a good chance of his parole date moving up to this time next year. And his chances are real good that he will make parole then. It's a shame that so many men/women make mistakes when they are very young & it follows them the rest of their lives even after they served their time for those mistakes. At least after this time we know he won't be going back. In a way it was a blessing he got the last DWI because he did quit drinking, got involved in AA, & had rebuilt relationships with family/friends. Fortunately for me I met him after he started on this path of non-drinking or we probably would not be together. I had a 15-year marriage that broke up over alcohol so that's something I don't want or need in my life ever again.
Our faith in God has got us through the past year & we know it will get us through anything we have to face. We are in this together & I can't wait until the day I can once again touch his sweet face.
So for anyone who is feeling hopeless...put your trust in God for He can truly do amazing things. We always question why God would let bad things happen to us, it's to get us to go back to Him. Think about it...
