Who am I
Hello DS Family, For a while I have been struggling with who I am. I know that I believe in God and everything but I know that I am physically attracted to females. What is frustrating is that I have read in the Bible that being gay is a sin; but would God really condemn someone just because of who they choose to love? Any advice from anyone who knows what I am going through would be awesome. I just don't know what to do about these feelings anymore.

I believe that God loves everyone gay or straight! My personal belief is that we are born with our sexual preference, that it is in our genes, so I don\'t think it is a sin. It seems like conservative Christians think it is a sin and more liberal Christians believe it isn\'t.
I hope this helps you, but I don\'t believe that God or Jesus would condemn a gay person. Also, I believe that same sex marriage is OK.

I think others that have commented here have said things more eloquently than I can. The Bible tells us there is no condemnation in Christ. And there isn\'t. God loves you just the way he made you!
AfterI received Christ as my savior, I still continued to read the Bible as if I was one of the \"unrightous\" and not as one of God\'s children. I spent lot of time hating myself because of it. It wasn\'t until recently that I asked the Holy Spirit to help me understand God\'s word and who He is in a new light. I suggest you try it. God revealed to me that there are passages in the Bible that the religious people of our generation are misinerpretting and using to harm others. If I had listened to my \"church\" instead of God, I would have missed out on the blessing that my husband has brought to my life. He is an atheist. There are plenty of passages in the Bible where God says not to marry a non-believer and many testimonies as to why this is not a good idea. There was a lot of confusion going on in my life at the time I meet my husband and so spent hours in prayer over what I was supposed to do. God took me to passages in His word that told me this was the man He meant for me to marry and gave me peace. I still meet with some judgement now and again, but mostly understanding. God can do the same for you if you ask him to give you fresh eyes.
I have homosexual Christian friends that have found peace with their homosexuality through their relationship with God and study of the Bible.

God loves you and is not condemning you!
It is a sin, so is smoking (which is what I do), lying, gossiping, etc... God doesn\'t condemn us for our sins, He sent His Son to pay for them. When God CONVICTS us for something, it is always something we CAN stop doing and you will say to yourself, \"oh yeah, I need to stop doing this.\", when satan CONDEMNS us for something, it is something we CANNOT help doing and we CANNOT change it, all we can do is feel bad about it. Don\'t worry about what you can\'t change, such as your feelings, but don\'t act on them if you can help it. If you CAN\'T help it, just stay close to God. Jesus already paid for our sins, accept that fact and live free!
My friend, it is not through our deeds, but through our faith in God and Jesus Christ, our Saviour, that we are saved. We can only be FOR GOD, or AGAINST GOD. You say that you believe in God, so that makes you a child of God! Don\'t let satan confuse you by focussing on your weaknesses. The Bible says that we are more than conquerers, through Jesus Christ who lives in us! Jesus loves you and can use you in His greatness, just as you are. Loving hugs! xxx

The true sin is the rejection, discrimination, labeling, and downright negativity towards the gay community as a whole. I could care less what your sexual preference is, you are still a human being and God loves you! Just because you are gay does not mean that you don\'t have dreams, aspirations, hopes, and have probably walked a road that a lot of folks would not have been able to walk. During his ministry, Jesus fellowshiped with prostitutes, tax collectors, adulterers, and a host of other \"despised\" people. We should learn from his example and share the same acceptance he did. I once heard that we may be the only Jesus someone sees on any given day, so why are we so quick to condemn those who are in any way \"different\" to us when in fact, they have the same struggles, burdens, and worries as anybody else. Shut out those voices that tell you otherwise. You are precious in his sight and that is all that matters!
