Had an IUD inserted 1 month ago, so far no impact on my INR and the hematologist approved it as well as the gyno did research to make sure it was ok.  The cramping was pretty bad the first few weeks, but it seems to be gone now (I also have a very low pain tolerance). We'll see in another couple months though.  I still get wonky breathing every once in a while too.  I just had a week of shortness of breath like symptoms, was kind of aggravating, but today was a good breathing day.  I really need to see a pulmonologist to understand just how much damage I may have done to my lungs.  They said I was covered in clots in my lungs but wouldn't give me a number and I didn't really want to know for fear of freaking out... but now that I have breathing issues, I think I'm prepared to find out.But I'm almost at 4 months post diagnosis and just last week, my INR was 2.6 and I'm finally able to go 4 whole weeks between blood tests.  They had me do 3 times of 3 weeks apart.  It's looking like I'll be able to get off the coumadin after 6 months total - although my vascular doc said I should probably wear a compression stocking on my left leg for life (but I can remove it when it's hot or I'm working out)

Have you had a repeat CT to make sure the clots are gone?

I know I too want to know how much lung damage I have but I am a little scared to ask not sure I want to know if its possible that I have permant lung damage. Hope it is all just temporary. Did you have lung infarction?
