Who loves emergency surgery while on coumadin?  I do I do.  Ok not really.But my appendix decided to get aggravated with me while on vacation last week and I had to go under the knife.  They used plasma to get my INR down to normal level and then I was pretty much back to normal really quickly.  So quickly, my INR 2 days post surgery was 4.1 so we used Lovenox twice. <-- My INR is likely not that high due to the Lovenox - I happened to be on a clear liquid diet and barely moving, while my coumadin dose was still anticipating my eating and activity levels to be as they were prior to my surgery.  As of this past Monday, I was at 2.1.  My breathing is still not normal.  They had to intubate me and apparently that aggravates your breathing and causes you to product more phlegm but also increases your chance of bronchitis or pneumonia.  I did get the pneumonia vaccine before I was discharged in July after my DVT/PE incident, but that only covers 23 of the over 80 types of pneumonia?  So I have to use a breathing thingy. Anyhow - I'm out of work again while I recover.  I'd like to get back to be normal healthy again.  Ugh.
