My period started yesterday, thank goodness. That means I'm not pregnant, and don't have to worry about that yet. Unfortunately, since I've been on birth control, the bleeding has been light. Very light. But the cramps have been worse. This morning was...pretty bad. They were near constant last time. Before birth control, there was more blood, and the cramping stopped after the second day. Hasn't been that way since I started birth control, although, to be fair, I've only had two periods.

My husband says that the house has undergone some major transition since I've been here, even if I can't see it. Or, rather, don't see the change because I wasn't acquainted with what it was like before. He says the dishes are done regularly, the garbage doesn't just sit there, and the house looks a million times better than it did. So far, I've only really exerted any influence I have over the upstairs bedroom, hall, bathroom, and the stairs themselves. Although I guess the kitchen would look better since I've been doing the dishes pretty much every day.

I don't know. I still feel like I'm not really in *my* house. I feel like I'm living with my mother in law. Even though the house has technically been ours for two days. It's a little frustrating.

That, and my friends on Facebook keep posting pictures of their babies. It makes me want a baby. Sort of. I'm not really ready for a baby, and was super relieved when my period started. But I want to cuddle and care for something. I'd spoil the cat rotten if she liked me. But she hisses when I get too close and she knows she's not supposed to be somewhere, or when I close the bathroom door.

My husband said we could get a cat of our own, but that we have to wait until his family leaves, because of their cat, Gia. So I don't get that, either. And my bird is still across the country, because we didn't know how to take her with us. So I'm in a strange place, with lots of time, and nothing that has to have my attention. I take care of my husband, but he doesn't *need* me to do that. He's capable of taking care of himself. And the others are the same way. Even if they did need me, I don't think they'd be too welcoming of my help.

It's frustrating. My arms feel empty, if that means anything. I'm used to having a child that needs me, or an animal. But there's nothing here that needs that right now. It's a little disheartening.

My husband wants me to spend more time downstairs, where his family congregates, because he says it makes him feel like I'm more a part of the family. I don't really feel that way when I'm down there. I feel awkward. But I guess that's not going to change unless I do it more. He also wants me to start working with him and his mom on business stuff. His mother, while super nice, isn't the most organized person in the world. Neither is she particularly efficient. I can see just one simple thing that could fix that, and improve their business, but I don't know how to talk to her to suggest it. I'm so not social it's laughable. I'm the worst person to drop in a random place where they don't know anyone.
