Update
I just checked back and realized I should update my journal. This week marked the third anniversary of my widowhood. That was the 12th and then the 14th would have been my wedding anniversary. These three years have seen many changes in my life. My youngest son and his wife now live in the home I'd lived in. They moved here from PA last fall. I now have a small home nearby. My nice car has been replaced with an old one. My one precious cat has gone to be with my husband and dog on the other side. So my younger cat and I now keep each other company.
Other than that update I have no idea what to post. I spend a lot of time alone. Finances are scant, so that affects one's quality of life. It is hard to keep house and car in working order, with no help. What family that I have locally pays little attention to me. For instance right now each night I must unhook one battery cable, so as not to have the defective diodes on my alternator drain the battery before morning. The steering is also going out on my car. In the house, the breaker for my water heater is bad, so I usually need to flip it in order to get a tank of hot water for a while. The toilet leaks, so I have to turn the water off between flushes. This is all just getting too frustrating for me to handle. Add to all that the fact that my HMO dumped me and I had to get a new one. The new primary changed my BP meds and so I've felt bad for the past month. I'm beginning to wonder if it is all worth the effort! I guess it is a good thing that I don't believe in suicide, so that isn't an option. It's too bad that I'm too old to go looking for a good man to take care of me!

I truly relate that it\'s hard to do things as money gets tigher, and we get older. My husband is with me thank goodness but think if I ever did wind up alone I\'d move to a senior development because they offer bus rides to doctors, shopping and more. I don\'t know if you have that available, but maybe you can look into it if you haven\'t already. much love xo\'s too
Hi, just a note to let you know we\'re here. Does your situation allow for a senior community? I know those are not always financially feasible. I am sorry your family isn\'t there for you - I do know what that is like and my heart goes out to you for having to deal with all of this and the loss of your husband.
