Well today was a pleasant day I have to say. I spent this afternoon at the home of Dr. Bryant and Dr. Chouhdhury (husband and wife professors at Delgado who head up the honors department.) My class as well as their other "Structure of Western Thought" day class was invited to their home for what was refered to as "Movie Marathon Sunday". Basically, we gathered to watch the motion pictures based on the novels (Greek Mythology) we are presently studying, and to dine on the Indian cuisine offered by our hosts, (Dr. Chouhdhury is a native of Bangledesh.) The food was excellent and was such a treat to me as I have never had Indian dishes before. The movie we (our class) watched was "The Odyssey" as we are currently reading it (my paper on it is due next week). I have to say that so far I honestly love Greek Mythology and have thoroughly enjoyed the pieces I've had to read thus far. Two semesters ago we read Sophocles' Greek Tragedies and also Euripides.  Now Odysseus' travels are what has my full attention. The movie was long but I didnt mind. At first I was a wee bit nervous about attending. Its just that I didnt know exactly what to expect because I wasnt sure who would be attending and its a small class as it is!. I was afraid of being the only one there in a way!! Plus the whole social scene outside of your comfort zone is always a "butterfly catcher". But it turns out that I am soo glad that I took a deep breath and went in because I felt relaxed in the environment and I actually enjoyed myself. Dr. Bryant was under the weather today so she apologized and retreated to her room during the movie but emerged after in small doses to be a trooper throughout her long day. And Dr. Choudry made it very confortable for us to sit where we pleased and help ourselves to the food they had prepared for us. Their son Alex (12) was also great and kept you at ease as a wonderful "Jr. host". It was very casual and enjoyable. There was one other student from my class (we were happy to see each other when arriving) who was glad he'd attended as well. Anyway, I left after our film at about 4pm and made the mistake of going to Big Lots near my house.....and  $99.66 later I finally made my way home and here I am with Masterpiece Theatre on in the background.I hope I can come up with something creative for this paper. Ive been kind of a dunce as of late. Time to take some Ginseng and get the old brain on my side! Trouble is as usual I tell myself, "ya got plenty-a-time....." and I tell myself that straight up until that "time" aint so plenty.   So lemme go get started. Here's to a good week for everyone.
