23 weeks and counting
Well, technically I am not 23 weeks yet, but the baby is measuring 23 week as of yesterday. I had the "big ultrasound" yesterday. It was AMAZING...well, after waiting an extra half hour to get taken back. I guess it was worth it, even though my bladder was about to explode. We got some awesome brain pictures and the baby was at the perfect angle for us to see all four heart chambers....it was amazingly beautiful to see that little heart pumping away. My DH and I were in awe for the entire hour plus that we spent in the room watching our baby move and kick. He or she is definately an active little one, and if that is any indication of what the baby is going to be like when it is born, I better be prepared. We were so very excited to get to have a 3D/4D scan done as well. It surely made it more real seeing that sweet little face. We have had some friends lately have babies and pregnancies with complications in the past few years, so I had my check-list as the baby was being looked at. Two hemispheres in the brain- check, 2 kidneys- check (my SIL's brother and wife carried a baby until 5 months when they had to terminate because the baby had no kidneys), no cleft lip- check, spine looked great- check (I have a student this year born with spina bifida, so I have been nervous about that lately too), two legs, and two arms....five fingers on each hand...check. "Unofficially" the tech said things looked good, and I haven't heard from my OB, so I am assuming no news is good news...crossing my fingers at least that is the case. Also saw that my placenta has moved up, from 1 cm from my cervix to 3 centimeters, so DH is hoping to get off of pelvic rest now! Ha!Ha!. If it were up to me, I would be okay with no sex until after baby is born...but I will most likely have to bite the bullet a few times in the coming months.
Anyways....feeling so blessed. We didn't find out the gender, so the discussion on baby names continues...we are not in agreement what-so-ever...argghhhh.... Also need to get moving on moving my office into our extra bedroom to make room for nursery. Lots to do, and it really feels like time is going to get tight soon.

So exciting! I\'m so happy for you. My husband and I were in absolute awe. It\'s so much more miraculous when you get to see that it really is a little person inside of you. :)
Awesome update!! Glad everything looks healthy!
