What a week

At my last appointment with the neuro, they decided to try a test dose of ritalin to see if it would help me focus and work more effectively. It worked great and we decided to go for a trial period with it. She prescribed me two doses per day, though I'm finding that one lasts long enough that two would be trouble. I shouldn't need the second one. I'm encouraged to know I can use this and it's on an as-needed basis--I don't have to use it every day.
Meantime, school has been causing major anxiety for me the last few weeks. I am finally done, but can't seem to shake the anxiety. I haven't slept right in three nights, but am hopeful that with the term over tonight will be better. Here's hoping. I canceled my class for the first subterm of fall due to my upcoming surgery. I just decided that it wasn't worth it to try and push things that hard. Feeling some relief from that.
Now I've got a migraine trying to start in my right temple, so better go treat it mildly or go home for the day and get aggressive with the meds. Not sure which yet. We'll see. I could certainly use the sleep from heading home...

I almost forgot to add--through all of this my husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, so we have that added issue to deal with as well. The upside is that he has bent his will and been able to cook dinner--a real dinner!--on most nights due to my utter exhaustion at the end of the day. Awesome change in him.

I\'m so sorry about your hubby too. That is another big issue to deal with. I hope he will be onboard with the dietary changes that come with having diabetes. Glad to hear he is cooking dinner. Yay!!!! Let me know how the Ritalin goes in the long run. Anxiety is hard to shake. You are going to think I\'m nuts, but sometimes I try an exercise where I lie down with the covers over my head and pray for God\'s safety to come over me. It feels a bit womb-like under there. So, that might be another helpful part. Love you.
