phew! a load has been lifted. i officially do not have diabetes. my blood sugar was 99 which i guess is really good. i felt like such a hypochondriac the whole time, as i'm 26 and pretty healthy, but i just kept telling the doctor (a UCLA med student) that i just needed to know. i blame it all on the internet, lol. atleast i wasnt the person that comes in saying they have the disease, i was just the one that needed to know so i could stop worrying about it. so i dont know why i'm so gassy (he says its probably just normal and i can take over the counter stuff), why i pee so much (he did say "well, you are a female", lol, true), or any of the other things i thought were symptoms but i dont really care right now because my worst case scenerio is out of my mind. i briefly talked about my binging but didnt get into detail. i just said that i would binge eat, off and on for about 4 years, lots of sugary and starchy foods. he told me that i would need to be doing that for a decade or two for it to have that kind of effect on me which made me feel better. so i just look at this whole situation as a wake up call. there are two things i need to do. one is take better care of myself so i dont have to worry about this kind of situation in the future. the other is to talk to my parents about family medical history. i was actually thinking about this the other day too but when the doctor was asking me about it, it sucked that i had to answer "i dont know" to everything. i've never talked to my parents about it but all i know is that no one has had cancer or even a heart attack...which is pretty good! but i dont know about high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and all that. so i think next time i talk to my parents i'm gonna have to ask them about our family medical history...its definitely a good thing to know! so yay for being healthy and here's to staying that way!
