Day 50 - halfway to 100! i got a little excited this morning....not only cuz i went to the gym (go me!) but because of what i discovered when i got there. i'm a member at a gym chain that i joined when i lived with my aunt and uncle north of san francisco so i could still be a member when i moved into the city. now i can go down here as well. luckily, i have 4 locations that are no more than 3 mi away from me that i can go to. i'm basically right in the middle of them all. i'd tried 3 and today i went to check out the final one. as soon as i walked in the door, on my left side, was an indoor pool!! no freakin way! i knew they had one but i assumed it was outdoor and seasonal like at one of the other gyms in my vicinity. there's only 3 lanes but there we no more than 3 people using it each time i walked by (going in and out of the locker room) so that's great. i used to be a swimmer in high school (i qualified for the regional and state meets, thank you...and was a quad-captain my senior year...not to brag, lol) and havent had access to a pool since college...and this one is free with my membership! i've been wanting to get back in to it but the only pools available that i've found you had to pay for and i wasnt about to do that. this is great cuz i really enjoy it as exercise and now i can switch between dance, the elliptical trainer, and the pool. i am definitely going to swim laps tomorrow as long as they sell swim caps and goggles at their shop, cuz i have no idea what happened to mine. thank god i still have my bathing suits....actually, i have my high school suits, lol. 4 - one from each year. they're not in the best shape but they'll do...besides, us swimmers usually wear two suits anyway to give extra resistance. in high school, we also used to wear cut up t-shirts as well and not shave our legs until the end of the season meet! gross huh? it was nice having an excuse not to shave though, and people didnt think we were gross hairy girls cuz they understood what we were doing. anyway, enough about high school, i get to swim laps for free! lets just hope the pool isnt too crowded when i get there, cuz i dont like sharing my lane with others. if its too bad i'll have my regular gym clothes too and save my swimming for another day. yay for a free lap pool!!!i'm just glad i got out of my apartment more today. after the gym i went to the park and read cuz it was like 70 degrees, sunny and not windy today....ahhhh. then i came home and wrote up about half my christmas cards (i'm hoping to get them out around the first so that people who want to send me one will have my new address). then my hand got tired so i needed to take a break. i'm seriously sending out like 70 this year. that's what happens when you live in so many places and makes friends every time you move. the funny thing is i'm not sending any to anyone in LA....maybe next year. then i did grocery shopping to finish the day and i will be staying in tonight cuz i have no extra money to go out and do anything. its good thought cuz if i'm gonna lose some weight i cant be going out to eat and drinking, right? well, maybe i can, but not just yet, i'm not ready...and again i have no money.enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Its great to have all these sports facilities - x training certainly helps keep me exciting about exercising! Still hideously jealous about the sunny clime in LA - its far too cold in the UK! Big hugs
