Day 14 2 weeksJust wanted to stop in and celebrate my 2 weeks of being binge-free with everyone! yay! things are going well and i'm very happy. and, i called a friend yesterday! a friend of mine from college literally dropped off the face of the earth, i was seriously concerned that he died, but he was actually involved in something that made him cut-off all his friends. but he contacted me via-myspace (gotta love myspace!) and i finally called him last night! we ended up talking for almost an hour and a half. i hadnt spoken with him in like 2 years so it was fun catching up. it also felt really good to talk on the phone with a friend....just like i knew it would!its funny how i know what can lift my spirits and make me feel better yet i get scared to do it. why do i get scared to talk on the phone with a friend? i guess my biggest fears are not having anything to talk about or the other person not caring about the stories and conversations i bring up. but the funny thing is, if we had things to talk about when we lived close enough to hang out then we must still have things to talk about when we're far away right? and if we still want to keep in touch then we must care about what that person is doing with their life want to hear about it right? i just feel more comfortable talking with people in person. and i just get concerned that i'm not doing anything worth talking about. whats funny is that one of the biggest accomplishments since i've moved for me is only bingeing once and currently being clean for 2 weeks....but i cant talk to my friends about that....that's what DS is for! i havent done much since i've been here....taken lots of classes, went to an audition i was so not prepared for, checked out a few shopping areas, drove around some of the city, went out for drinks by myself once, saw 2 celebrities and a couple reality stars....but that seems to be it. not too interesting, and i would expect that people expect me to have done more....but at the same time, i have no friends, i havent contacted the people i know here yet, and its only been a little over 2 weeks. i dont know, maybe that is a lot, but my friends are expecting me to have great stories to tell them and i dont really feel like i have any. what would other people have done so far in my position? if only i knew someone else who has made a move like i have so i could compare notes. but i like not knowing anyone else who has done this! i just need to suck it up and make these calls....i still have my list (one is crossed off from yesterday!) and hopefully i can call another friend today too.on another note, during the week of my going away party, packing, dining with my aunt, dining with my ex-roommate, moving, situating, and bingeing, i only gained 2-3 lbs. i'm sure to normal eating people they'd think thats ridiculous but i know i wasnt eating well during those times, and of course the binge didnt help any, so i expected to go up a little bit. i weighed myself last week and i was at 148 and then today i was 146.4. i have been trying hard to eat well, but still going out to restaurants, so it seems i'm doing a good job. i made my goal to be at 135 by my birthday (1/22) which is very attainable and i can actually see myself reaching 135 before then...i just thought my bday would be a good ending place. in actuality, if i lose 1 lb a week, which i was doing before i moved, then i'll be at 135 by the beginning of the new year. that'd be pretty awesome. good luck to me!i also want to thank everyone for their continued support even though i cant always be there for everyone too. you've all made such an impact on my recovery and i cant thank you enough! happy friday everyone and have a great, healthy weekend!

so great to hear that you\'re reaching out to friends you\'re a whole new woman!! thanks for your support too.
That\'s wonderful! Amazing what can be burnt off isn\'t it? Don\'t be too hard on yourself about not having contacted people yet. Everyone feels shy in a new place and its only been two weeks! And you should never worry about not being interesting in conversation, you are always interesting!
Good luck with your goal. you can do it!!
well done you - those two weeks ahve gone by so bloody fast! I agree about not worrying about not contacting your friends, you\'ll do it when you are ready!
you are doing great! i agree that you shouldn\'t feel bad about not contacting friends, but it sounds a lot like me. i was always so worried about what they thought, that i avoided talking to them. then i realized it is not all about me! i needed to contact them to see how they were! i am so glad i realized that so that i no longer have to fear what others think... i just love them.
2 weeks - what a fantastic achievement! Good luck with your birthday goal xx
2 Weeks passes so quickly, so don\'t beat yourself up about not contacting your friends. Well done also on your 2 weeks binge free. Take care and LOL
