i cant wait to not work in a restaurant anymore. fucking sweet potato fries. i dont know if you guys have had them before but they're so friggin good and people actually come to our restaurant and rave about them...and talk about how they're addicting. i didnt binge or anything but i hate that i ate them. there were some extras made so i had some....and then some more. i mean, i didnt go too far above my daily calorie goal  but i just wish that i could have eaten something healthier than that. there's really no nutritional value and they dont fill me up either....unless of course i eat a crap load of them like i used to. i have 4 shifts left there before i officially become unemployed for the first time in my life and i dont want to eat them anymore. i made a deal with myself a while ago that i wouldnt eat them until my last day but i broke that deal a couple weeks ago. i still only have them very rarely but since they are a trigger food, i have a little bit of hate for them. so i'm stating right now to you guys (since only doing it to myself doesnt seem good enough for me) that i will not eat any more sweet potato fries during my last 4 shifts. i know its only 4 days but i dont care, i dont want to do it. i usually end my days with a skinny cow ice cream sandwich and tonight i was not able to have one because i chose the fries instead. i dont like that. i want my ice cream. too bad KLSar, too bad. that'll teach you. BUT, i did say no to a bite of a dulce de leche spring roll (my favorite dessert we have), ice cream, and wonton chips....all things that were offered to me tonight. i cant let myself get back into the mindset of "well, i've already had sweet fries so i might as well have everything else i shouldnt while i'm at it". so atleast i did some good for my health tonight.

work is also the only place where i drink diet coke...actually, i wouldnt say drink, its more like suck down. i probably drink about  60oz plus or minus during a shift. i used to drink it all the time to keep myself from eating, but that's not really the issue anymore. now i do it to caffinate myself, to keep me awake and in a good mood. its always easier to deal with asshole and annoying customers when you're in a good mood...i have more patience and tolerance. so when i feel my mood start to shift i drink diet coke and it always makes me feel better. the problem is that once i have one cup i keep having more until the end of the night. what's even worse is that when i work night shifts it disturbs my sleep...not as bad as bingeing used to but i still wake up too early in the morning or in the middle of the night for no reason. i know that shit isnt really good for you anyway which is why i never drink it except while working...or if its mixed with alcohol of course but that doesnt count smiley-wink.gif.

my eating habits have just become so much better lately and i hate that my job is what ruins them. i do well at work most of the time but when i dont its just annoying. the only reason i go for these things while i'm there is because its available and free. if i had to buy sweet fries or diet coke i wouldnt....i dont want to waste my money on that crap anymore.....well, maybe every once in a while as a treat but i definitely would not have them as often as i do at work.

screw work and the awful temptations it brings upon me. my life will be much better without it....and it will be in a week....thank god!

Man you are doing incredibly well! i remember diet coke well, when i was in dieting phases i used to drink it if i was hungry or i went over my calorie count (at that time i was on 1410 calories a day as well as working out incredibly hard at a gym class and walking all over NY running errands - don\'t know how i did that for so long - i think about 8 months plus or minus a number of binges) I used to drink anyway up to 6 cans a day. Much healthier if your body is telling you its hungry to eat, but i didn\'t listen to that, here have some diet coke and have to go to the toilet all night!!!
I thikn you are great - keep it up

dont be so hard on your self, turning down the ice cream sandwich and other fatty stuff after eating the sweet potato proves how far you have come and the strength that you have gained! (also sweet potato is high in vit C hich boosts the metabolism so you probably wouldnt have put on any weight by eating them) well done and be strong, youll be out of there soon! x

Okay... we will hold you to the not eating the fries... but I agree, you should not feel bad, they do have some nutritional value and you didn\'t binge!

there are some great flavored waters out there now if you can get yourself to switch over. Yeah, when i was a waitress at one place i would go in the walkin(large fridge) and stuff my pants, pockets, etc with shrimp! then when i started at a new waitressing job, first thing i did was tell EVERYONE i was on a diet. not only did they help me, but i would be embarassed if i put anything in my mouth that i wasnt supposed to. AND the chefs were great. Ya know how nasty and cranky they can be? well, they actually helped by weighing and measuring my meals for me before the shift started and then preparing them sans butter/oil, etc. That was the start of my losing 60 lbs! and i kept it off for years. dont know if that would help you...but you do only have 4 shifts left....

yeah, its just the caffeine in the diet coke that i\'m going for. i also tried the \"i\'m on a diet\" thing and it didnt work...a few times. my cooks are good to me though, not using oil and cutting off excess bread from my sandwiches. thanks for the advice though!
