Moving!

This past weekend was total chaos! My daughter Melany and I both moved, to different places. Melany and little lee-Ann moved to a small apartment, and I moved to my son in a different town. Our things were packed, and placed in opposite sides of the house. Moving out on the same day, Sunday, and keeping our stuff separate, was quite a challenge! Fortunately Melany moved to an apartment in the same town. But I moved to a town about 2 1/2 hours drive away. My son and his half brother, Chris, helped me move with a small open truck and a trailer.

As soon as we got onto the highway, it started raining. Chris had to sit on the back of the small truck, because inside were only 2 seats. The poor guy got plenty wind and rain, but he just laughed it off. We stopped under every second bridge, and waited for most of the rain to pass. It took us just over 4 hours to complete the 2 1/2 hours' drive. Eventually we reached my son's apartment.

Chris could only move into his new apartment on Monday afternoon, so my stuff was squeezed into the living room and garage. Poor Chris offered me his bed, and he slept on the couch for 2 nights. I could only start to move into my new room on Tuesday afternoon, carrying my stuff up the stairs, one box at a time! Here I will definitely get fit! Gareth and Chris helped me move the heavy stuff upstairs. Now to find a place for all my stuff!

Why do upsetting things have to happen at the same time? On Monday my son, Gareth's girlfriend broke off their relationship, because she still loves her ex. Gareth's heart is shattered! He is too upset to sleep at night. I have my own emotions to deal with, but I hide them inside me. My son needs my support and understanding now. My heart is crying inside, because I moved away from the place that Colleen and I shared for almost 6 years. I moved away from her grave. But now I need to show my son that I am happy here. He really needs my support right now.

Eventually this apartment will become my home, not only physically, but also emotionally.

Moving, particularly considerable distance can be a very stressful thing to do. It can also be exciting, fun, and expectant. Though you have moved considerable distance from where Colleen was cared for as well as her grave, do realize her spirit and your memories of her are right there with you. Take the time to begin a plan for a new start in your life and allow your son to care for you for a little while. Relationship breakups are tough to deal with, especially for the one getting told the relationship is over with. Hopefully, you\'ll both be able to give each other support during the difficult though different emotional events.

Thinking of you and all that you had to do to get ready for this move and now the creating of a home for you. :)

I have a sense that your son and you will be healers for one another because it is the sharing of our hearts that they touch one another. Both supporting one another in a vulnerable time and I\'m so sorry that your son is broken hearted as I know how much it hurts our hearts to see that with our children. :(

I have no doubt that Colleen will be adding her touches as well in the apartment so what has she prompted you to do that might have surprised you? Our children have a way of making their presence known, don\'t they? :)

Loving care and watch your back as you unpack. I\'m reminding myself with this statement as we continue with our packing on this end of our move. It is daunting some days, isn\'t it?!
