Faith

It has been denamed in the merging of tongues
It has been defamed in the quest for just one
"Faith" is the f-word which was worthy of mouth soaping in the traumatic chaos of my childhood. My atheistic clan still takes great pride in their faith-bashing skills, up to and including a child's faith in themselves.
I have put allot of work into reducing the trigger power of the word. I do not especially want to bounce to the opposite extreme of unquestioning compliance, but it should not have the power to turn me into a quivering wreck awaiting the rape and mayhem my father used to "prove" there is no God.
There is no way to know for sure that all my memory blocks have come down, but I do believe it is so. I do not know, but I do believe my next step is trusting the emerging memories. Building faith in them.
Put that bar of soap back in the sink, Daddy. I have a right to use that word you so despise.
