Better

It has been great having my car back. The recent sets of etceteras have fairly nixed my plans to resume the Mississippi River Valley research any time soon. 35 years in one home base is ALLOT of grounding for a crazy old gypsy like me. It  has gotten to where I can no longer get lost in the state of Texas. Not for very long, anyway. Home base is at the intersection of its five geological zones and at the center of its political  boundaries. In my objective moments I can get past my wanderlust enough to lose the trapped feeling and appreciate the local diversity. So what if it takes an overnight budget to get out of the state. The local diversity is especially magnificent here in cooler months of winter. The the day trips have been soothing.
This wandering week seems to have gotten Priscilla past her fear of cars. The brief glimpses of life on the road have offered her some new clues on the purpose of the training I have been inflicting on her. Patience, my pup. Wait 'till you get your first camping expedition! Unfortunately, it will still be in Texas, but I am counting on you to make that fact fresh for me.
