hi journal,  Sis took a shower this morning!!! I am so pleased...I had written her b/f last night as well as talked to her and this morning she took a shower and changed her clothes!!I did not even have to go over to her home either!! Geeze, her boyfriend turned on the shower and told her to get ready for the caregiver to come over and take her out,and she did!! How easy was this??? Her b.f could have done this anytime before, and she just might have showered before now. Hope this keeps up.. How can something so small make me so happy!! But guess what, it thrills me!!! I spoke to sis tonight, well listened to her,and she was so proud of her shower and hair washing.. I told her how glad I was and that sometimes she might forget to shower and you know what she said?? She said, well sometimes I have to be reminded...... Can you believe this?????? Her care giver had come over just as she was finishing up the shower, so she helped my sis pick out something to wear,as helped her with her hair... That caregiver even put a dab of perfume on her, which made my sis thrilled.. She was sure laughing when she told me about the perfume...She actually remembered the perfume, even tho she did not remember what they did today... Anyways, I am glad for her, and I wrote her b/f tonight and told him how thrilled she was,and for him to keep reminding her to shower. I know it will not always be this easy, but it worked today!!! Of course my sister thinks her caregivers are friends and not paid for what they do,so this makes it nicer for her...

You are so thrilled because you are such a wonderful sister and you love her. Im really glad that you didnt have to make that drive. I worry about you with your health and your hubbies health and everything with your sis. You would think that the wonderful( gag) bf of hers would have enough sense to have known to just remind her of taking a shower. Hes a winner isnt he? LOL Isnt fun how when something as little as a little perfume can make them so happy? I loved that when I worked at the home. It would be the smallest things that would put a smile on thier faces and I would always feel so good to make them smile or laugh. Now, Im the one that cant do anything and if I actually can do something, it is a big accomplishment. Boy how the table have turned. It really opens our eyes how we take things for granted until we are in those shoes. Im am so glad and happy for you that YOU are so happy. While I was reading your journal and just hearing how happy you are, made me smile. Your a wonderful, loving and caring person Phyllis and I love you dearly. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Hugs...Julie
