I'm not sure where to start today. We moved 3 hours from where we used to live to start a new and things have just backfired on us. My husband went to work in a new industry and on his 3rd day he dislocated his shoulder, so he's been out of work for over a month now. It's nice to have him home, but it's been really stressful on the same side. When he gets this stressed out it's like talking to a wall, no matter what I say I piss him off. Then he asks me what is wrong and if I try and tell him he gets all pissy with me and constantly yells. It puts a huge strain on our relationship. Luckily things with the insurance company are starting to come together and he is getting better, but I just hate it. I get to the point where I just want to take my son and run away. Which really sucks because I don't want to leave my husband, I love him very much, but I don't know what to do when he gets like this. It seems that he vents on me. Anyone else can calm him down, but I just piss him off even more if I say or do something. I can't even talk to him when he's like this, which just makes matters worse. Then he gets even more mad at me because I don't talk to him, but he doesn't listen anyway. I said something the other night about me not knowning if I am doing a good job with our son and he took it personally and got mad at me and wouldn't let me finish my statement. I know that I am not the first or only mother to worry about whether or not I'm rearing my child correctly. It's also frustrating because he seems to think that buying me things will make it all better. But I'm not that type of person. When he is like this, I can't seem to do anything right. I am currently going to school and when he's like this, instead of being supportive I get a guilt trip about having to be on the computer for hours at a time to get my school work done. Now that I think about it, he really isn't very supportive of my schooling. Everytime I need to do school work I get a guilt trip about how I have to be on the computer for such a long time and how I'm not spending time with him. Which really is a bunch of BS because our apartment is so small I sit right next to him while I do my school work. I am a very supportive person and have supported him through a lot, but I really don't feel that he really supports me for anything. I know that all this I should be telling him, but he takes everything so personally that he won't really listen to me, it always turns into him being the victim. I feel so lost. I love him so much that I don't want to leave him, but worried I've put myself and my son into a bad situation. Is this an abusive relationship? Or am I over-analyzing things? He's been through a lot in his life and it's hard for him to trust people, he has been the vicitim quite a few times in his life because of where and how he grew up. I know this and have always known this, it is what makes him, him. And he knows that he is in a better place now and has me and our son and my family that loves and cares for him very much. I don't want to change him, I fell in love with him for him, I just want him to know that things don't have to be this bad and that he doesn't have to over react in every little situation. He tends to break things when he gets really mad, which I normally don't care, because it's his stuff, but the other day he kicked one of my favorite pictures and broke the frame. This was a picture I bought with my own money years before I ever met him. This really upset me, I couldn't cry in front of him because then I would get "what's your problem?" and of course no opportunity to state my case without him telling me I was having an attitude. Sometimes I wonder why he married me in he first place, since he is constantly telling me I have an attitude and I'm getting on my nerves. Then he turns around and asks me why I'm not happy. What do I do? Is it time for counseling? Which won't happen anyway since we don't have much extra income right now. And I don't talk to anyone about all this. Granted I've been that way for a long time, but sometimes I need some help and I should be able to ask for that. I am being dumb by staying in this relationship? Am I hurting myself and my son by staying here? I really don't know what to do.
