WOW!  I can't believe it has been so darn long since I have journaled here.  Over a month I was fighting various computer viruses that first corrupted my OS, then locked up my browsers.  Finally got most of the stuff reinstalled and recovered all that I could.  Fortunately most web sites save our names & passwords. Well, it has now been 5 months since Mom was admitted to a nursing home.  They tell me that although she is doing better that they don't expect her to achieve Assisted Living level.  So now I have to do what I can to encourage her to try and at the same time discourage her from attempting what she did last year to go back home.  What a trial this can be. Then of course I have her bills to pay which are almost caught up now.  The facility screaming at me because they don't want to wait for insurances to make their payments and are trying to tell me that I have to pay either way and they will reimbuse me.  Medicare and Mom's secondary tell me that the dunning calls they are making are inappropriate and I should not pay them one red cent until all insurance is exhausted.  Boy do I feel like I am a ping-pong ball being bounced & batted by 2 teams of players. Today I received a letter from Medicaid that they have found some "unclaimed funds" that belong to Mom.  Of course they want to confiscate it.  Unfortunately it is more complicated than this.  Mom didn't even live at the address that is used by the unclaimed funds form, but she did visit there for 2 months in about 1995.  Now I have to go back through all the records and find out who owned the funds which carry 2 names and how much of it was actually registered to Mom.  What a bummer!!!!  I am becoming so confused and my life is still monopolized by Mom and her needs.  I am spending at least 20-30 hrs/week on her stuff, plus visits.  Some where there must be a relief in site. But there was some GOOD NEWS along the way!  Last Friday, at 11:23 AM, our granddaughter finally gave birth to our 5th great-grandchild.  She had a very difficult pregnancy, but Praise God, an easy delivery.  Only in active labor about 2 hrs which is amazing for a first time.  This young lady is about 5'4.5" and gave birth to a 7 lb 8 oz child.  Our bodies are so amazing.  Well, it is past 11:30 PM here and time for bed.  Hugs & best wishes to all.
