I just can't believe these doctors.  First they tell us NO SURGERY OF ANY KIND, then they say that there isn't enough negative indication to have 7 teeth surgically removed!  Been on the phone all darn day between two doctors.  First the cardiologist says we need permission from Mom's primary care doctor.  So I call her and am asked if I spoke with the cardiologist (I reply yes) and am asked if the cardiologist has requested pre-medication of antibiotics.  Since I did not have an answer there, I had to call the cardiologist back.  When the nurse from the cardiologist called back I had decided that since it was half way through their lunch time it would be safe to finally take my shower and get dressed.  My mistake again!!!  During my shower the cardiologist's nurse called back and spoke with my husband.  He says she was very stern about getting the permission from the primary care doctor and that they saw no indication to need antibiotic treatment in advance of the procedure.  So I call the primary doctor's office back.  Now the gal in the office is really upset!!!  She says that "with all of your mother's problems I don't believe her cardiologist is not asking us to give her antibiotics."  (By now I just want to say - then you guys argue it out professional to professional and call me when you are finished.)  So she asks me which pharmacy we use.  I told her and she said to check with them later.  I just called (about 3 hours later) and am told that there no prescriptions that have been called in.  WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!  Sometimes I wonder why we have doctors and if they have actually taken the time to read the files as they have claimed.  Yes, I am very frustrated. With Mom's combined heart problems and all the other stuff this extensive procedure could cause harm.  But does anyone besides my dh & me care?  I don't think so.   I close this entry very frustrated and disgusted with the medical profession of which I used to be a small part.
