Today I can safely announce that our son, et all, has landed safely at his new post. We were so blest. He called us everytime the plane landed and updated us as much as security would allow. He will be updating us as he is able. We give a big THANK YOU to God and all of you who prayed for their safety. It is difficult to know that we won't be seeing him for up to 2 years, but we know that God will carry us all through. Needless to say, this is having a negative impact on Mom. She is reading the papers daily again. Of course the world news is nothing that she has ever really watched, but now is almost compulsive to read the media lies and other news. She reported this AM that she couldn't sleep all night, partly for worry. Of course, this means that she also reports that her heart "doesn't feel right" either. But another check on her about 2 PM tells me that she is up, dressed, taken her meds and is going out to check the mail. Hopefully she will settle down with this as much as possible before our grandson has to leave. Maybe it will be a tiny bit less stressful for her.

I\'m not surprised that her \"heart doesn\'t feel right\". I wish more people\'s hearts didn\'t \"feel right\" about what\'s going on in this world, at the moment. Bless your mom. Her heart, feeling \"not right\" as it does, is definitely in the right place!
My son was in the Gulf War but on a ship. After 10 years he decided he had learned all the Navy could teach him about electronics and left. He got into the real world to learn more about electronics but joined the National Guard and was sent to Afghanistan for 2 years. He came home a very sober 37 year old at that time. I\'m sorry war is left to the very young who had no say in the war. I pray for your son and the others in his group (don\'t even know what to call the group). Sorry for your mother\'s obsession with this, maybe you can block the news channels and stop the newspaper. It\'s really bad for her and also, being the caregiver, for you. By the way, the new AARP magazine has an article listed on the cover called \"911 for Caregivers\". I\'m sure you\'re much to young to get that magazine, but maybe you can find it at one of your \"old\" friends house. XOXO Patti
