Today started with a real BANG.  Got a call from Mom @ 7:30 AM.  She had not slept all night and was having chest pain.  Mom told me that her heart was racing and she didn't know what to do.  She took the nitro she isn't supposed to use anymore and it didn't help.  I told her to push her "LifeLine" button and get the ambulance there and we would meet them to let them into the house.  We all converged in the driveway at 8 AM.This key thing really bothers me since we can no longer leave a key in a secure place for situations like this.  During the last lock changing, the locksmith found signs of tampering with one of the locks.  That means someone is trying to get into Mom's house.  We also found the lock on her overhead garage door had been remove and there is no way to lock it for now.  We have our suspicions about all this, but no proof, so cannot make any accusations. I really wish she would go back to the Assisted Living facility so we could be certain that she is safe and has care when it is needed, not when everyone can arrive. Bottom line on this morning:  When the EMT walked into the house we found Mom sitting in her chair.  Mom looked up at everyone and said "you're going to be really mad a me."  She claimed to be feeling much better, although her vital signs didn't show me much. Yes, her heart had slowed to almost normal, but her b/p was really out of wack!!!  Due to the darn "patient's rights" which we are now coming to terms with, the ambulance crew had to leave her there since she was now refusing to go anywhere.  I no longer become angry about this, but do get very frustrated.  This, of course, means we have to leave her to her wishes too.  We all sat there for about 30 minutes and chatted with her.  She seemed to be OK, so the EMTs left.  DH & I left about 15 minutes later, after I got her back to bed and secured the house for her.
