Today was a most interesting day.  We spent the afternoon with Mom.  Took her shopping for some new clothes and helped her pick them out.  It has been so long since she has allowed herself or others to take her shopping, she actually needed help in picking out some clothes.  The styles have changed so much.  Then we took her to a Seafood Restaurant that has just opened under new management.  She was so tired when she got home, but still insisted on sitting to chat a little more.  I can see the changes in her memory, and so can she.  It is so hard to watch.  But she has agreed to ask her doctor for Arisept or Exelon this week.  I told her that a headache side effect that can wear off after a couple weeks is a small price to pay for her memory, ability to think and her independence.  She agreed.  Now we have to see what the week will hold.  Mom has lots of plans if she is "mentally" strong enough to go through with them all.
