A most interesting end to this day. DH & I went to Mom's because her phone was off the hook again. This always concerns us because if she has a problem, her LifeLine will not work. We had a very long discussion about this agency. Mom has become so very frustrated by them & their seeming attempts to cause trouble and division within the family that she has decided to tell them that she no longer wants their services. This includes the lawyer who seems to be working in colusion with them. Tonight she was very calm and her thoughts appeared very clear.Since this agency and this lawyer have claimed that Mom has no memory problems and that she is totally competent, they will face an interesting situation. Now they will have to attempt to blame us for her decision or claim that she is truly suffering beginning dementia. Either way, we are prepared for them.Part of the basis of Mom's decision is all the tamerping that they are doing with her medications. Also the fact that they have closed me out of receiving help at her pharmacy. When the nurse denied having anything to do with that and blamed the lawyer. Then this nurse turned around and lied to us about a couple other things, we truly saw the light. Nothing could say this any clearer than the following: John 8:32 "and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."

Although that verse wasn\'t on my mind, the thought was. Nothing like getting to the bottom of things to get you started back to the top. You know, I wonder if this is typical in the lives of those who have \"only\" Dementia-Lite and are continuing to live alone...and are able to somewhat successfully. I guess the world isn\'t yet ready for all the elder independence it is applauding and cheering, for the moment. Or, let me correct myself...it\'s ready...to take advantage of it, I suspect. I wonder if there are any other caregivers here who are trying to allow their lightly demented elders independent lives and are running into similar problems. My mind is turning...
First afterthought: Considering publishing a discussion post on this, or around this. I\'d love to know how many other families who are supporting an elder living \"independently\" are finding the same collusive influences trying to take control from both the elders and the supporting families.
